In 1982 the Ernst Fuchs Bar opened it’s doors for the first time. Austrian artist Ernst Fuchs – co-founder of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism, acknowledged internationally, known for his mysticism, recognizable by his trademarks, a patterned cap and his golden Rolls Royce – was asked to create the bar space of the Palais Hotel Erzherzog Johann in Graz.

When Herr Helmut took over in 2017, it was clear that the bar interior needed a redesign and the bar’s image needed a fresh breeze. The challenge was to pay tribute to the art and history of Ernst Fuchs while creating a modern and elevating bar experience. Celebrate and integrate Ernst Fuchs Faible for Gold and the use of his art pieces.
